Overview

The Ceiling Turret is an automatic sentry, located in the Black Mesa Research Facility at different areas. It is used as a deterrent against unwanted assault or entry by any organism that enters its field of view.

The Ceiling Turret has an automatic gun, and a ceiling cover located on the bottom of the turret for protection when inactive.

Behaviour

The Ceiling Turret is hostile against any living thing, whether human or alien. It deploys whenever an organism enters its field of view. Then, the turret proceeds to deploy and gun down the living thing until it dies, or the turret is damaged to the point of malfunction.

Tactics

It is possible to damage the turret with conventional weapons, but its firepower is too deadly to try this way. The best strategy is to avoid the turrets either by using the environment to hide from its sight or by sprinting away from it. [1]

Trivia

• The original Half-life had two ceiling turret variants (The triple-barreled autogun, and the miniturret with one autogun). Black Mesa's ceiling turret replaces both variants. [2]
