Chapter Summary

Forget About Freeman centers around the HECU's retreat from Black Mesa, taking its name from the iconic HECU radio transmission, "Forget about Freeman! We are cutting our losses and pulling out!" The tide of the battle has turned in Xen's favor, leading the HECU to abandon ground tactics and commence airstrikes and heavy artillery bombardment. Gordon is forced underground by the assault, and must navigate a tunnel system inhabited by Xenian forces and the remaining soldiers in order to reach the Lambda Complex.

Forget About Freeman is the thirteenth chapter in Black Mesa.

Gameplay

Forget About Freeman takes place in underground parking structures and sewer tunnels. As Gordon proceeds, he finds that waves of teleporting aliens are slaughtering the remaining HECU soldiers and establishing a strong presence. Snarks are first encountered as an enemy in this chapter.

Aboveground, a tank forces Gordon into cover as he's attacked by the remaining HECU Marines. Later, he must take control of a tank for himself to blast open the final doorway standing between him and the long-sought Lamba Complex.
