Overview

The Long Jump Module is a device used by the Black Mesa survey teams to make majorly distant jumps in order to explore around on the scattered islands in the borderworld of Xen. The module is crucial in order to explore the area, because of the void that one might fall to, due to the large distances between each island. The module is encountered first in the Hazard Course, and later on in the game during the chapter Lambda Core, given and introduced to Gordon by a fellow scientist in the Lambda Complex.

Gameplay

The long jump module is activated when the player presses the crouch key while walking forward and then pressing the jump key simultaneously before the player loses momentum.

When the player equips it for the first time, the suit's interface voice indicates that the module is activated. When long jumping, the module emits a hissing sound, indicating its use and mimicking the air blast created by the push given by the long jump module. [1]

During the last chapters of Xen, the module will be very important to jumping the floating islands hovering above the void.
