Overview
Snarks are small flea-like Xenian aliens that can be both enemies and weapons.
Snarks can be found in and around their nests in various areas of the Black Mesa Research Facility and Xen. They are vicious, but if found in their nests, can be wielded as a weapon if held properly to prevent wounds to the user. The usual nest carry 5 snarks when grabbed but the player can store up to 15 snarks in his arsenal [1].
Behaviour
Snarks are vicious and volatile; they will attack anything that moves in packs or alone, regardless of their own safety. After a short period of time, their bodies explode in acids with startling force for creatures their size.
Variants
Snark nests have two variants; one that looks similar to a large quadroped insect, and a much more advanced floating variant that appears to float in space giving off beams of light, also referred to as a snark tripmine. Only snarks in the insect-like nests can be captured and used as weapons.
Primary Function (Weapon)
Throw a snark. Snarks are good at detecting enemies, but they will turn against the player if the enemy is too distant [2].
