It's alive!!! (Facelift - Part I)
Finally I sucessfully did the facelift in the main page in the way I wanted. If you notice, the internal code of course is totally messed, because I took different parts of many templates in this wiki to achieve the final result (many things I did by tentative and error until get desired result. I still don't know how to create a fancy table :-p). Thanks to some FireTime tips, I could put together all the parts of the creature in the right way.
Feel free to edit and improve the internal code or put new things there. Will be nice to see that thing evolving.
I hope you enjoy the Dr. Frankenstein's creature! A creature, with a pretty face.

Hmmm. Thinking...

(Above, the brainstorm for the 2nd part of the Facelift, from my user page. Below what really happened here.)
Well, I tried, but couldn't find out how to create it using the wiki code, so I made a mockup in Photoshop to show the desired design of the facelift finish (shown below). My goal is to erase that welcome text in the header of the main page and put it inside a fancy box, side-by-side of the BMWiki Icon (inside a fancy box too). The welcome text can be left aligned inside the box.
So, I request here a help to someone who knows how to translate the image below to wiki language.
Other better ideas for the design are welcome too.
By the way, I made this (it needs an image better centered):

oooo fancy! It will require 4 more pics (the rounded corners in lt-grey/gray)
I'm busy creating the Questionable Research site but I should be done done with that shortly. --FireTime 22:09, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

all using the box template! The problem was the the "font" tag you were using contained an un-encapsulated equal sign. Now you can use the BRANSPANKINNEWTM font template.
ALSO there now is the {{=}}, {{!}}, {{((}}and {{))}} templates if you need an equals sign:=, a vertical-pipe:|, or double curly brackets: }} passed in a template --FireTime 00:06, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

AWESOME JOB!! Now I noticed that I have too much to learn about that science...
I'll mess a bit with your code and insert that last piece in the main page. Again, thanks for the invaluable help. Be sure that you got a fan here.
(And thinking better, I won't delete the mockup from the wiki server. A sort of Main Page "Redesign History", you know... I hope Cman2k dont mind. :P )

UPDATE: Hehe! Now I'm even more proud of the creature. The "big boss" appreciated the work!! Nicely done, guys!
Bugs
The new code is nice, but I found a bug there (call me picky, but I can't resist): The height of the paddings inside the Navigation, Management and External Links boxes is broken now. Before it was the exact same size of a line in the top & bottom; now is too big above and too short in bottom.
For sake of comparison, check out how it was before the code update: exact padding height in top and bottom.
I can't fix it because the new code is too advanced for me.

I converted the main page back to the old tables (with the new IE fix) is the problem gone?--FireTime 08:10, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Perfect now (tested in Firefox and IE 8). Thanks! --Conti 12:43, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
